Chalice Bearers

Chalice Bearers, also known as Lay Eucharistic Ministers, assist the priest and deacon with Holy Communion, and also perform other worship ministries as needed. Becoming a chalice bearer involves significant training in the theology as well as the practice of sacramental worship.  Lay Eucharistic Visitors may on occasion bring the Eucharist to the sick or homebound.

They rotate in their service duties throughout the year. They are scheduled in advance and unless we are notified differently, generally the practice is to schedule them for either the eight or ten o’clock service.  Please contact Father Calkins if you are interested: calkins@sttimschurch.org

Lay Readers

Lay readers read the scripture to the congregation each Sunday. They are given the readings ahead of time in order to become familiar with the text. Reading with confidence and for meaning is important. If you or your older children are interested in  becoming a Lay Reader for the parish, please contact Father Calkins at calkins@sttimschurch.org
