Messy Church: The Parable of the Sower

The children learned about the parable of the sower and his seeds which teaches us that God's love grows in our hearts when we make our hearts like good soil, ready to accept Him.  Our crafts and activities reinforced the parts of the parable.  Seed art creations reminded us of the potential of a tiny seed.  Beaded bracelets reminded us that God is always with us, even during rocky times.  The outdoor game "Thorns and Seeds" let us act out Jeuss's teaching to overturn our worldy concerns and turn instead toward God.  Finally, out in the garden we learned about soil and composting, a very real demonstration of what can grow in good soil.  Aas always, we shared the eucharist and a homemade meal together.   At Messy Church the joy of learning, worship and fellowship come together.
